Unit 3: Construction
During this unit of study, students will explore nature’s drive to construct. People and animals make structures, design rules, share ideas, and develop works of art. We are all makers. Kindergartners have a defining characteristic: initiative. Children use their natural creativity and imagination to create structures and places they make for themselves: forts, homes, secret hideouts, and more. We will connect our previous units of study, Unit 1 (Community), and Unit 2 (Animals & Habitats), to explore fairness, equity, and access that arise when something is constructed.
